Its the day before Thanksgiving, so this one’s a little shorter and I just couldn’t help but give you an image that shows the beauty of the typical holiday meal we may all be enjoying here in the US tomorrow. Let’s chat a bit about being grateful for His glory in our business…and giving credit where credit is due.
When things are going well in our life and business, who gets the credit? We know instinctively as God-centered entrepreneurs, there’s only one place the credit goes – to the Lord of course. In Romans 15:17 Paul tells us he has reason to boast in Christ Jesus regarding what pertains to God. The same goes for us. As people doing business with God at the center, our #1 job is to show up and reflect Christ’s light to the world. That’s how the world witnesses Christ through us – they see the joy, hope and peace in our business even when things aren’t going great, and they think, what is it about them that just exudes this peace, hope and joy as they’re building business? I want to do business with that person.” They’re drawn to be our client, our business partner, etc., and that opens the door for exemplify Christ and perhaps introduce them to Him.
I challenge all of us as we’re standing on the stage, as we’re accomplishing big things and little things in our businesses, to be sure we’re boasting on all that God is doing in our lives. Because we’re not doing it on our own. Yes we have to show up and be obedient, willing to take the step and the action that He calls us to take. Absolutely. Still, it is ultimately God accomplishing these things through us. As Paul says in Philippians 4:19 – we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Yes, let’s acknowledge that we took the steps and were obedient to the call, but let’s give credit where credit is due – to the one that opened the doors we walk through.
Wishing all my US readers a glorious and happy Thanksgiving! God bless you and your family as you gather together.
