You know when I started my entrepreneur journey back in 2010 with my network marketing business, I was fortunate that this business model gave me a sort of built-in “tribe” for encouragement – people to hold me accountable, cheer me on and pick me up when I was tired or mired in mind trash. But when I gave my life to the Lord in October, 2014, I suddenly felt out of place, or like the wardrobe of that tribe didn’t fit anymore. Because my “tribe” were great business besties, but they didn’t get it when I’d say things like, “I’m doing this for God’s glory,” or “I’m going to pray over this incentive before I go for it.” They were encouraging, but it wasn’t the encouragement I needed as a Christian woman pursuing success.
It’s critical to surround yourself with those who will encourage you in walking out God’s assignment. Encouragers who will admonish you, hold you accountable to to the commitment to doing he work God’s assigned you, and the discipline it takes. Those who will come alongside you with truth and love, and even hold you up when you get tired.
