The luxury of time to think

The luxury of time to think

Do a google search for “mindset,” and you’ll find thousands of “self-help” resources available at your fingertips. Read any business or entrepreneurship book and you’ll quickly find that in the space that makes up 5-6” between our ears is the center from which 80% of success springs forth: our mind and our thoughts.

God’s goal is for us to transform into the likeness of Christ, to reflect His love and light to a broken world. And that transformation begins in the mind.

Here’s the point: one of the gifts of the past year is we’ve had more time to think. Our world slowed down, and that left space for something us entrepreneurs often overlook in the schedule: time to ponder, think, and plan. And for many, the space to think led to anxiety and worry (anyone else feel that, or just me? 🙋‍♀️)

With so much content in the world at our immediate access, how do us God-centered entrepreneurs know where to turn for the truth about managing our mindset and finding calm in the chaos?

In God’s instruction manual for life: The Bible.

This verse here, along with Philippians 4:8-9, provide our guide to Godly thought management. I love how @maxlucado puts it in his book, Anxious for Nothing: we get to pick what we ponder. The greatest action God gave us – the one over which we have the most free will, and which plays the biggest part in our success – is up to us.

And what we think about – pray about – meditate on – contributes to our finding calm and operating our businesses by pursuing success God’s way.

🧠 Got some mind trash going on? Set your mind on things above, not on the earth (the verses mentioned above).

🌫 In a mental fog of distraction, discontentment and doubt? Meditate on His word (Joshua 1:8).

🧭 Feeling anxious at decision crossroads? Take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5).
