Stacy says, “My decision was for my family and because of God. And so I really ultimately had to step in and make a courageous choice that many people I knew would not understand. But when I see my Maker at the end of my life, I don’t want to say, Lord, I couldn’t do it because I was afraid of what so and so would think of me or I was afraid of maybe losing some friends. I did it because I’m living my life to please God and wherever he leads me, no matter what that is.”
Being called to move on isn’t easy in our humanness, but we always must ask ourselves: Am I now trying to win the approval of human beings, or of God?Or am I trying to please people? If I were still trying to please people, I would not be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10
While both anticipate some backlash to this conversation from some in her previous business, we know that any time we choose God over pleasing people backlash is normal and God redeems it all. I pray this candid episode blesses you as you discern if God is telling you to move on, or if it’s really you feeling antsy or chasing a shiny object. For Stacy, it was truly a call from God, and she responded with full obedience, which He has blessed with unsurpassed peace in her life!
